SSC Score Calculator with Negative Marking
After an SSC exam, most candidates want to know their expected marks from the answer key and response sheet. This free score calculator works out your total marks, section-wise marks, accuracy and the marks lost to negative marking. It supports popular SSC exams such as CGL Tier-1, CHSL Tier-1, GD Constable, CPO Paper-I and Stenographer, and you can also set your own pattern.
How to calculate your SSC marks
- Choose your exam. The sections, number of questions and marking scheme are filled in for you.
- Open your response sheet and match it with the official answer key.
- Enter the number of correct and wrong answers for each section. Questions you did not attempt are counted automatically.
- See your total score, percentage, accuracy and section-wise graph instantly.
- Optionally enter the expected or previous cutoff to see how far ahead or behind you are.
The score formula
Score = (Number of correct answers × marks per question) − (Number of wrong answers × negative marks). For example, in a test with 2 marks for each correct answer and 0.50 negative marking, 75 correct and 15 wrong answers give 150 − 7.5 = 142.5 marks.
Why accuracy matters
With negative marking, a wrong answer costs more than a skipped question. Checking your accuracy and the marks lost to wrong answers helps you decide how many risky questions to attempt in your next mock test or exam.
Important points
- The exam pattern and marking scheme can change from year to year. Always check the official notification.
- For exams held in multiple shifts, SSC may apply normalisation, so your final marks can differ from the raw score shown here.
- This calculator gives an estimate only. The official result is decided by SSC.
